Introduction
ChangedThe terms for Skylith's development build. They describe how the service actually behaves today; the binding agreement lands before launch.
These terms are the agreement between you and Overhang Studios, the studio that makes Skylith. They apply to the game, this website and its community. By using Skylith, including playing the demo without an account, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Skylith.
These terms are the agreement for using Skylith. The Community Guidelines are part of them, and the Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information.
Skylith is a card game played in a web browser, made by Overhang Studios (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the game, the website at skylith.io and everything on it, including the community pages and the Shop.
The Community Guidelines are part of these terms. The Privacy Policy explains what information we keep, why we keep it, and what happens to it when you leave.
You must be 13 or older to make an account. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
You must be at least 13 years old to make an account.
If you're under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use Skylith, and they must agree to these terms for you. They are responsible for how you use it.
You can't make a new account if we've disabled one of yours, unless we've told you that you may.
One account each, and you're responsible for itper person, kept to yourself. Your @handle is permanent; , and your display name can change be changed once every 30 days.
One account per player. You're responsible for what happens on yours — keep your sign-in to yourself.
You need an account to play beyond the demo and to post in the community. You can sign in with Google, or with an email address and a password.
Your @handle is permanent. It is chosen once, it cannot be changed, and it is not released even if you delete your account — a freed handle is an impersonation waiting to happen.
Each person may have one account. Keep your sign-in to yourself, and don't sell, share or give away your account. You're responsible for what happens on it, so if you think someone else has got into it, write to support@skylith.io straight away.
Your display name is yours to change, once every 30 days. The limit exists so the name above a leaderboard score still means something an hour later.
Use an email address of your own that you can receive mail at. The links that confirm pausing or deleting your account are sent there.
Handles, display names, bios and avatars are public. Your email address is never shown to other players (Privacy Policy, Section 2).
Your @handle is chosen once and can't be changed. When an account is deleted, its handle stays reserved, so nobody else can take it.
Some accounts belong to the people who build and run Skylith, and are marked with their staff rank: Developer, Admin or Moderator. Developers and Admins aren't limited by Skyth, so they can test the game, and an Admin can never trade.
Your display name can be changed once every 30 days.
Your handle, display name, bio, avatar and the rest of your profile can be seen by other players, and all of it must follow the Community Guidelines. Your email address is never shown to other players (Privacy Policy, Section 2).
Accounts run by the people who make Skylith show a staff rank: Developer, Admin or Moderator. Developers and Admins have unlimited Skyth so they can test the game, and Admins can never trade with players. An account run by an AI model shows the tag Artificial Intelligence.
Use Skylith to play, keep your progress and share it. Don't try to break it or get in other players' way.
Skylith is free to play for your own enjoyment. You can share screenshots and videos of your play, but you may not copy, sell or take apart the game.
Skylith is a card game. The service exists so you can play it, keep your progress, and share it with other players — use it for that.
Skylith is free to play. We give you permission to use it for personal, non-commercial purposes under these terms. That permission is yours alone and can't be passed on, and it ends if you break these terms or when your account is deleted or disabled.
Don't attempt to disrupt the service, probe its internals, or interfere with other players' sessions.
You're welcome to share screenshots, videos and streams of your own play.
Apart from that, you may not copy, change, sell, rent or distribute any part of Skylith, take apart its code, or use it to make another game or service, except as far as the law allows you to.
Skylith, including its name, logo, cards, characters, art, sound, writing and code, belongs to Overhang Studios or to people who have allowed us to use their work. These terms don't give you any rights to it beyond using it as described here.
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything for them.
Called “This Is a Development Build” before.
Features can change and progress can be reset while the game is being built. A purchase that goes missing is never part of that.
Skylith is in Alpha, so features, rules and numbers will change. If progress ever has to be reset, we'll announce it in News first.
Skylith is being built in the open. Features appear, change and disappear, and progress may be reset when the way it is stored changes. None of that is a fault — it is what a development build is.
Skylith is in Alpha: it is unfinished and changes often. Features will be added, changed and removed, and cards, enemies and prices will be rebalanced, so things you've earned may work differently from one update to the next.
Some things are sold already (Section 3). A purchase that goes missing is a fault, not part of a development build.
Progress may have to be reset if the way it's stored changes. We'll announce a reset in News before it happens.
There will be bugs. If you find one, please tell us at support@skylith.io or in Threads.
Up to three saves. Losing a fight on Hardcore deletes that save, and a sold card is gone from every save.
Up to three saves, kept with your account. A single loss can delete a Hardcore save, and some things lost in play are gone for good.
You can keep up to three saves. Each has its own world and its own progress. Cards from packs and the daily spin, and the named characters you recruit, belong to your account and are in every save except a Hardcore one, which starts with a single card of its own.
You can have up to three saves. Each has its own world, mode and progress, and is kept with your account, so you can carry on from any device you sign in on. Your browser keeps a copy too, so the game doesn't have to wait for the network. Clearing the browser's data for this site removes only that copy.
On Hardcore, losing a fight ends the run and deletes that save. It cannot be brought back, by you or by us.
Your Skyth, your relics, the cards you get from packs and the daily spin, and the named characters you recruit belong to your account and are shared by your saves. Card levels, your party and the other cards a save recruits stay in that save.
Selling a card removes it from your collection, in every save, for good. You get Skyth for it, and you can never sell your last card.
Hardcore saves are the exception. A Hardcore save starts with a single card of its own and doesn't use your account's cards, and most relics don't work in it. If you lose a fight on Hardcore, the run ends and the save is deleted, unless a relic prevents it. A deleted save can't be brought back, by you or by us.
Each save, the world it was played in and where you stood included, is kept with your account, so it carries on on any device you sign in on. The browser you play in keeps a copy too, so the game doesn't wait on the network; clearing that browser's data for the site clears only that copy.
Some things are lost in play for good. Selling a card removes it from your collection in every save, in return for Skyth, and you can't sell your last card. Some defeats cost you a card, and the game tells you which one when it happens. We don't restore anything lost this way.
If you lose progress because of a fault in Skylith, write to support@skylith.io. We'll look into it and put back what we can.
Skyth is earned or bought, has no value outside the game, and can't be cashed out or traded. Packs are random with their odds shown, and a delivered purchase is final unless your local law says otherwise.
Skyth is earned by playing, and nothing is sold for money yet. Skyth and what it gets you have no money value and can't be traded or cashed out.
Skyth is the game's currency. You earn it by playing, up to a daily limit, and you can buyspend it in the Shop's Treasury. It is spentShop on card packs and relics.
Payments are taken by Stripe, who handle your card details; we never see them (Privacy Policy, Section 4). Every purchase is listed in Settings → Billing.
Nothing in Skylith is sold for money at the moment. The Shop's Treasury, where Skyth will be sold, is closed, and anything bought before it closed stays on your account. Before it opens again, these terms will set out how payments, receipts and refunds work.
Skyth has no value outside Skylith. It can't be exchanged for money, sent to another player or moved to another account, and neither can anything it buys.
Skyth, cards, relics and everything else you get in the game are part of Skylith. You can use them in the game while you have your account, but you don't own them and they have no value in money. They can't be sold, exchanged for money or moved to another player or account, except through a part of Skylith made for that.
Card packs are random. The odds are chance of each rank is shown in the Shop beside the packs, and the biggerlarger packs guarantee a better last card. What a pack holds is decided on our server when you buy it, never on your device.
A purchase pack or relic is final once it has been delivered, except whereand the law where you live gives you a right to a refundSkyth spent on it isn't returned.
Trading between players isn't open yet. The Market stays sealed until it is, and these terms will say how it works before it opens.
We may change prices, what packs can hold and their odds, and what cards and relics do, for example to keep the game balanced.
Trading between players isn't open. The Shop's Market stays sealed until it is, and these terms will cover trading before it opens.
What you post stays yours, and you let us show it on Skylith. You're responsible for it, and we can remove it if it breaks the rules.
You can write posts, threads, replies and a bio, and upload an avatar. What you create remains yours.
By posting something on Skylith, you allow us to store it, copy it and show it to other players as part of Skylith, for as long as it stays there. That permission ends when you delete it or your account, except for text another player has quoted in their own reply.
Only post what you have the right to share. You're responsible for what you post, and it must follow the Community Guidelines and the law.
We don't review posts before they appear, but we can remove anything that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines, and we can lock a thread. Posts by players express their own views.
Cheating, exploits and rank manipulation can cost you your account.
Play the game as it's made. Cheating, using bugs, rigging the Ranks or attacking the service can cost you your progress or your account.
Cheating, exploiting, and leaderboard manipulation break the game for everyone and can cost you your account. The Community Guidelines spell out the spirit of it.
Don't cheat. That includes using bots, scripts or a modified version of the game, editing what the game keeps in your browser, and sending our servers anything the game itself wouldn't send.
Card statistics are game rules, not your data — they are set by us and cannot be written by a client. Attempting to change them is not a bug report.
Don't take advantage of bugs. If you find one that gives you an advantage, or something you shouldn't have, report it to support@skylith.io instead of using it.
Don't rig the Ranks, for example by arranging duel results with another player or by using a second account.
Don't interfere with Skylith or with other players. That includes overloading or attacking the service, trying to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, and getting around a limit or check we've put in place, such as the human check at sign-in.
If you break these rules, we may take away what you gained, reset your progress or your standing on the Ranks, or disable your account (Section 11).
Skylith runs on services from other companies. Signing in with Google is also covered by Google's terms, and we don't control other websites we link to.
Skylith relies on other companies' services to run, such as Google (Firebase), Cloudflare and Vercel. The Privacy Policy, Section 4, lists each of them and what they do.
If you sign in with Google, Google's own terms also apply to that sign-in.
Skylith, and what players post on it, can link to other websites. We don't control those websites and aren't responsible for them.
Pause any time,You can pause or delete: deletion your account whenever you like; deleting waits seven days and can be cancelled until then. We can disable an account that breaks the rulesthese terms.
You can pause or delete your account or delete itat any time from Settings → Account. Pausing is reversible at any timehides your profile and can be undone whenever you like. DeletionDeleting waits seven days, and you can be cancelledcancel it from the sign-in screen for every one of them; afteruntil then. After that it isit's permanent and cannotcan't be undone, by anyone, including you or by us.
We can disable an account that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines. That is a separate thing from pausing your own account, and it is not something you can lift yourself.
What deletion removes, and the record of your @handle it keeps, is set out in the Privacy Policy, Section 7.
What deletion removes, and the one thing it deliberately leaves behind, is set out in the Privacy Policy, Section 7.
We may suspend or disable an account that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines, or when the law requires it. You can't sign in to a disabled account, and it can't be re-enabled from Settings. If you think we've made a mistake, write to support@skylith.io.
Nothing is paid out for the Skyth, cards or relics on an account that's deleted or disabled.
We may change or stop offering Skylith, or any part of it. If we decide to close Skylith, we'll announce it in News in advance.
We work to keep Skylith running and your progress safe, but we provide it as it is and can't promise it will always work.
We work to keep Skylith running and your progress safe, but we provide it as it is and as available. We can't promise that it will always be available or free of bugs, or that nothing will ever be lost.
To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about Skylith other than those in these terms.
Where the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses we couldn't foresee or control, or for losing things in the game. Your rights as a consumer are not affected.
To the extent the law allows, Overhang Studios isn't responsible for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of something we did wrong, for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control (such as a failure of a service we rely on, or of your device or connection), or for the loss of progress, Skyth, cards or relics, which have no value in money.
Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow to be limited, or takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.
We'll update these terms as Skylith changes. Every change is dated in the revision history, and the current text is the one that appliesimportant ones are announced in News.
